seeing the beauty in the storm

Growing up in Iowa we often had large afternoon thunderstorms and instead of running from the storms I would run outside to marvel at the power of the storm, the cloud formations, lightning, wind, and smell of the earth during the rain.  Many of my paintings feature storms which evoke a certain mood, some violent and some serene.

Weather is an integral player in our daily life and we should embrace and celebrate it!  My paintings demonstrate how storms come and go but just like in life we face each one and move on.
